DigiDarla Challenge

I love the challenge at DigiDarla this week and it is "Little One". I used my newest patterned paper from my SP&Company August monthly kit which is the Echo Park "Documented 2" pack. I love the colors and patterns of this paper. I used this adorable little boy with the pinwheel and I even paper pieced his shirt. I used a Martha Stewart zig zag border punch along with a strip of washi tape. Thanks for looking.

Scrap It Girl's August Challenge

I have fun completing challenges each month for the "Scrap It Girl" blog. These month the challenge was to use Numbers. I found these fun Tim Holtz numbers at my local Tuesday Morning and figured they would be GREAT for this challenge. I decided that I wanted to create a birthday card for my niece's birthday for next year. She is going to be six and loves the color purple. I colored the number using my Tim Holtz alcohol inks. I fussy cut out some beautiful floral paper that a friend of mine gave me this weekend is very old but so beautiful and perfect for this project. Thanks for looking.

SP&Company Monthly Challenge

I am a club member of the SP&Company monthly kit club and when they do their monthly stamp releases they also have a challenge. You can find information about this great company and there stamps here. This month the challenge is "use the color Yellow." This was really quite a challenge for me since this is one color that I don't really like or use much of but I was able to find some papers and embellishments in my stash that were yellow. I used one of my new doily dies and the Swirly Doos SP & Company stamp set to create the sentiment for this card. Thanks for looking.

Digi Darla's weekly Challenge

This week DigiDarla is having a blog hop to showcase all their new designs for the month of August and the challenge is "Musical Lyrics". I immediately thought of the cute Timmy Turtle image when I saw the challenge. I colored him with my Copics and Distress markers. I used an SP&Company stamp set to make the banner and my distress markers to add the "Singin' in the Rain" sentiment to the front of the card. The patterned paper is from Echo Park and was also part of my July SP&Company kit. Thanks for the great challenge and for looking at my card.

Core Cards Creation Frenzy

I got notice that Core'dinations was looking for cardmakers that like to use pre-made card bases. I always use pre-made card bases when creating cards and I love to create them. I love using all types of die cuts whether it be ones that I cut out using my Silhouette die-cutting machine, chipboard pieces or dies that I use in my Cuttlebug. I enjoyed creating some very special cards to showcase the type of work that I create. I LOVE using Core'dinations paper. I used some of the wonderful pearlized cardstock on these cards and love how beautiful it made my cards look. Here you can see that I started with pre-cut and folded cardstock to make my cards.

The first card I used a pre-made card base and added a fun dot background that I cut out with my Silhouette die-cutting machine. I added a lady chipboard from my stash. I used some washi tape along the bottom of the card and cut out a scalloped oval with a squeeze punch. I then stamped a sentiment onto the oval.

The next card I used a pre-made cardstock base and added some black and white designer paper to it. I then cut out a frame shape with my Silhouette die-cutting machine and stamped a sentiment on it after inking the edges with some ink. I added a piece of pearlized Core'dination paper that I embossed using my Cuttlebug machine. I added a fun embellishment and a strip of glitter tape.

The last card is one that I also used a pre-made cardstock base. I added a beautiful piece of glittered Core'dinations paper that I embossed with an embossing folder and my Cuttlebug machine. I used a recycled doily that I inked with distress ink. I used a wood veneer piece and made my own glossy heart embellishments. I then stamped a sentiment in the middle of the doily.

I created a video to show how I get more use out of my sentiment stamps when stamping on an area that is smaller than what the stamp is. I used this technique on the first two cards and I also show how I made the glossy hearts that I used on the third card.

DigiDarla Weekly Challenge

I created this card for the challenge this week at "Anything with Wings". I decided to use this image with a butterfly and added a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I cuttlebugged the background and added some ribbon from my stash. Thanks for looking.
