SP Trends Challenge #6

The Trends challenge this week is actually a color challenge. You can find it here and you were to use: Monaco Blue, Poppy and Nectarine. I recently bought a card sketch book from Barnes and Noble and is really fun to use. It is from a card magazine and shows you the sketch and three examples of cards. I used a white A2 cardstock base. I punched out DCWV Tradewinds patterned paper using my Fiskars circle squeeze punches. I used a piece of striped paper and cut out a small strip to place in the cetner of the card along with a piece of cardstock that I used a Fiskars border punch on. I also used the paper towel that I used in my misting box when I spray my items to punch out a circle also because it was the correct color. I used a sentiment stamp from the Sunshine Emma stamp set in the lower right hand corner. Thanks for looking.

Double Take Tuesdays Challenge

Greeting Farms Double Take Tuesday challenge this week is "Aqua and Chevron". I added Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper along the bottom of the card. The top piece of patterned paper is also from the sweet Girl Echo Park paper pad. I stamped out the chair from "Sitting Casual" onto Echo Park patterned paper. I then stamped out the girl from the Sitting Cute stamp set. I stamped out the cushion from the Sitting Cute stamp set. I then stamped out a dog from an Inkadinkado stamp set in Memento brown ink. I also stamped out a frame from the same Inkadinkado stamp set on the top right of the card and stamped out the sentiment from an SP&Company stamp set. Thanks for looking.

Greeting Farm "Retro" Challenge

The Greeting Farm blog always has a Retro challenge where you are to use an image that is at least 6 months old. I used the Scoot patterned paper from Echo Park in the background of my card. I used a strip of green paper from the same paper collection and I used my Fiskars Upper Crest border punch along the top of the strip and then adhered it to the bottom of my card. I stamped out the Ian stamp with my Memento black ink and colored with my Copic markers. I placed 3 small Sticko dot stickers in the lower left hand corner. Thanks for looking.

Greeting Farm "Farm Fresh" Challenge

The Friday "Farm Fresh" challenge for this week is "Sparkle & Shine". I used a white A2 size cardbase. I took some pink patterned paper from Sweet Girl Echo Park paper pad and put it on the top of the card. I used a piece of grid patterned paper from the same paper pad for the bottom of the card. I used a strip of washi tape along the line where the two papers met. I stamped the couch from the Greeting Farm "Sitting Cute" stamp set on a piece of the Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper. I stamped out the girl image from the Sitting Cute stamp set with Memento black ink and then colored her in with my Copic markers. I added some stickles to her hair accesseries and top to make her really sparkle. I also added some Copic glitter pen to her shoes. I took a Labels 6 Spellbinder die and cut it out using white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Sitting Cute stamp set on the label with my black Memento ink. Thanks for looking.

SP&Company Color Combo Challenge

SP&Company does a weekly color challenge and this week the colors were baby blue, yellow and light green. You find out the information here. The perfect colors for spring. I chose to use an A2 size white cardstock base. I then cut a piece of the Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper a little bit smaller than the A2 size and added it to the front of the card. I used my MS border punch to punch out a piece of light green cardstock which I placed along the bottom of the card. I then used my Fiskar flower border punch to punch out some light blue cardstock and adhered that underneath the green strip along the bottom of the card. I used a cute sunshine image that I was sent in a RAK today. I used my EK Success real estate sign punch to punch out some blue cardstock and I stamped the sentiment from the Sunshine Emma SP&Company stamp set. I added some fellow Petaloo flowers around the sentiment sign. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Trends #5 Challenge

SP & Company puts out a bi-weekly Trends challenge and they are so fun to do because sometimes they challenge you to use things that you have in your stash but don't use like you should. I find that is what happens with my twine. I have some and most has been given to me and I don't use it like I should but recently I have found some fun uses for it. I had fun creating this Mother's Day card using the "For Every Woman" stamp set from SP&Company. I used the Sweet Girl Echo park patterned paper to cover the background of my white cardstock base. I chose the striped paper for the top and then a strip of the flowered paper along the bottom. I stamped out the flower vase on some white cardstock and colored it in with my Copic markers. I then took a piece of twine and wrapped it arond the vase and tied a bow. I chose to make a fun banner in the upper left hand corner of the card using some twine. I used my Tiny Build a Banner stamp set from SP&Company for the banners and to spell out the word "Mom" on the banner. I make two little bows with the twine and adhered them to each of the corners of the twine. I stamped Happy Mother's Day in the lower left hand corner of the card using the "For Every Woman" SP&Company stamp set. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Project Life Challenge

SP& Company had a great online crop for their March release of stamps and other wonderful products!!! It is very exciting that they now have dies to match their stamp sets and a wonderful binder system for the dies and stamps. Please go check them out here!!! One of the challenge was to do a Project Life layout. I have recently started scrapbooking this way and LOVE how much more quickly that I can complete my scrapbook layouts. They might not have as many fancy elements but they still tell the same story. I really have found that I love cardmaking more than scrapbooking unless it is a special project for someone. I chose to get my son's birthday photos done from his 13th birthday. I used the SP&Company birthday stamp set for the journaling spot.

SP & Company Card Coordination Challenge

SP&Company release online party 10 pm challenge is to make a card with a coordinating envelope. I took a piece of glittery patterned paper from the DCWV patterned paper and the strip across the bottom is from the same patterned paper. I took a piece of pink paper and stamped out a sentiment form the Sunshine Emma stamp set. I chose to use a strip of the same pink sparkly patterned paper from DCWV on the envelope and I stamped it with the "Happy Mail" sentment from SP&Company. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Sketch Challenge

SP&Company release online party 11 pm challenge. This challenge is a sketch challenge. I used my circle punch to cut out pieces of the Sweet Girl Echo Park pattened paper. I added a strip across the top of the circles. I stamped the sentiment from the Sunshine Emma stamp set along with some wooden heart veneers. Thanks for looking

SP&Company release online party 8 pm challenge is a coloring one. I chose to use some patterned paper from Indie Chic from My Minds Eye. I stamped a colored a CC Designs stamp. I cut out a strip of plain patterned paper and then wrote my sentiment on it. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Glitter Challenge

SP&Company release online party 7 pm challenge which is to use glitter. I used the floral paper from the Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper. I then took a green and pink glitter tape from American Crafts and placed it across the center of the card. I then took a piece of green paper from the Sweet Girl patterned paper stack and made a banner and then stamped the sentiment from the Sunshine Emma stamp set. Thanks for looking

SP& Company Together Challenge

SP&Company release online party 6 pm challenge was to create a layout or card inspired by the word together. When I think of this word I think of a couple and love so that is what I did. I took 4 of the different pieces of patterned paper from the Sweet Girl Echo park collection and added them to the front of the card. I then stamped out the banner from the Swirly Doos stamp set and the sentiment also came from that stamp set. I took a piece of the hexagon paper and put a small piece of it in the upper left hand corner. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Photo Holder Challenge

SP&Company release online party 5 pm challenge was to make a photo holder. Patty showed us a great tutorial. I changed it a little because my photos were only 4 X 6. I put my cardstock on some chipboard so it makes it a little more sturdy. I took some bling mesh from Craftsupplies1 on Etsy and went all the way around the photo. I used some purple lace from my stash to make a hanger and also to attached the two frames together. I added some glitter stickers along the bottom showing what year the photos were taken. SP&Company release online party 4 pm patterned paper challenge. You were to use 4 different patterned papers. I chose to use some patterned paper from the Indie Chic My Minds Eye paper pad. I stamped and colored a Gorguss girl image with my Copics. Thanks for looking

SP & Company Creative Borders Challenge

SP&Company release online party 3 pm Creative Borders Challenge. We were to use border stamps in a creative way. I chose the Chevron Chase border stamp to make a background on my card. I used some purple distress ink. I added a piece of cardstock along the bottom that I punched using my Fiskars scallop border punch. I added a piece of striped paper that I cut using my Spellbinders Pinking Circle die. I added a piece of green cardstock that I cut out using my MFT bracket die. I stamped the sentiment from the In Love Emma stamp set.

SP & Company Tic Tac Toe Challenge

SP&Company release online party 2 pm Tic-Tac Toe challenge. I used the top row which was patterned paper, lace, and gems. I used a piece of dictionary paper for the whole front of the card. I then added 2 strips of patterned paper and a strip of turquoise lace. I added some pearls to the lace on the left. I colored a CC designs Kiki stamp with my Copics. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Recipe Challenge

SP&Company release online party 1 pm challenge was to use: patterned paper, image, flower, trim and a button. I used a piece of a purple patterned paper from my stash. I took my Fiskars scalloped punch and punched out a border with purple cardstock. I placed a piece of lace trim under the scalloped piece. I added a purple and yellow flower from my stash to the bottom of the paper strip and a purple button on the top left hand corner of the card. I stamped out the Sunshine Emma and colored her with my Copic markers. Thanks for looking.

SP&Company release online party Sat. noon challenge was to make a card with the colors of teal, yellow, pink, and white colors. I took the yellow woodgrain paper from the Sweet Girl Echo Park paper pad and then I added a strip of the pink square paper from the same paper pad along the bottom. I stamped out Sunshine Emma and colored her with my Copic markers and I paper pieced her dress with paper from that same paper pad. I stamped out some clouds to put along the top of the card. SP &Company release online party 11 pm challenge. The challenge was to create a layout using the theme Pure Happiness. I created a birthday layout for my son’s 13th birthday and I made a journaling spot with the Pure Happiness stamp set. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Fun Fold Challenge

SP& Company release online party 10 pm challenge was to make a fun fold card. I found this card design in the latest Cardmaker magazine. You take 2 pieces of cardstock that are 12 X 6 and score them in half. You then cut each piece at a diagonal; on the first one you remove the lower left hand corner and on the next one you remove the lower right hand corner. You then take the two pieces and fold the flaps over and glue them together with the full sides against each other. You cut out a piece of cardstock that is 5 ¾ and 5 ¾ to put on the inside. I then stamped the fan shape from the Pure Happiness set across the piece of white cardstock on the inside of the card. Thanks for looking.

SP & Company Emboss Resist Challenge

SP&Company release online party 9 pm challenge is to do an emboss resist technique. I decided to stamp out the clouds and sunshine from the Sunshine Emma set in Versamark ink and emboss them with white powder and then use my distress inks in Broken China and Squeezed Lemonade to go around the images and make them stand out. I added a piece of patterned paper along the bottom from the Sweet Girl Echo Park paper pad. I stamped and colored in Sunshine Emma with my Copics. I took a piece of the Sweet Girl patterned paper and made a banner and then stamped out the sentiment from the Sunshine Emma stamp set. Thanks for looking.

SP &Company release online party 8 pm challenge is a recipe to use: 1 main image, 2 patterned papers, and 3 embellishments. I used a couple of patterned papers from the Sweet Girl Echo Park paper pad for this card. I colored up the Sunshine Emma stamp with my Copics. I added a piece of pearl trim from Craftsupplies1 along the center of the two pieces of paper. I added some blue flowers from Craftsupplies1 and a flair button from buttons and badges on Etsy in the middle right of the card. I stamped the sentiment from the Sunshine Emma card along the bottom right hand of the card.

SP & Company "Getting into Shape" Challenge

SP & Company release online party 7 pm challenge is to make a shaped card. I have a Silhouette machine which I don’t use as much as I should. I thought it would be fun to use it to make my shaped card. I chose to make a purse card. I used grey cardstock to cut out the purse shape, the handle and where the strap attaches. I used some DCWV patterned paper for the front of the purse. I added some pearls where the purse strap attaches. I used some trim that I got from craftsupplies1 on etsy. Thanks for looking.

SP&Company Stamp & Scrap Challenge

SP&Company release party 6:30 pm challenge is to incorporate stamping on my scrapbook layout. I have started to scrapbook the Photo Freedom style of scrapbooking. It goes so much faster and takes less time. I used the Mix and Match kids sentiments to stamp out some words that describe my son and his hard work to get into honor society.

SP & Company Card Challenge

I am one of the hostess of a challenge for the Online Crop for the release of new SP&Company products. It is taking place on the SP&Company blog and also on their Facebook page. I chose to to make up a recipe for you to follow and include all the items in your card. The ingredients are: patterned paper, image, button, flower and lace/trim.

I started with a white A2 size card base. I added a piece of patterned paper from the Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper pack from the monthly kit. I took the hexagon patterned paper from this same paper pad and fussy cut some of the images out and adhered them to the top and left hand side of my card.

I stamped Sunshine Emma with Memento black ink and then colored her with my Copics. I thought it would be fun to paper piece her dress with some of the Sweet Girl patterned paper. I used a fun button card that I upcycled from some card that I had received. I added a piece of lace on the bottom with some ribbon running through the middle. I added a piece of very dainty trim to the left hand side of the card along with some adorable pink flowers that I glued in a group of three to the lower left hand corner. A Seasonal Challenge

I love this site for digital images and great challenges. This challenge is to make a creation showcasing what the season is in our area from January to March and it is winter time with some sun and flowers starting to bloom near the end of March. So my card is a winter time card.

I used an A2 size cardstock. I took some white cardstock and embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder using my Cuttlebug. I then used some Versamagic chalk ink in blue tones to ink up the snowflakes so they stood out. I die cut some paper snowflakes using some blue cardstock and some Papertrek ink dies with my Cuttlebug. I stacked the snowflakes on top of each other and popped up the top one with foam tape. I colored in the image that I received from this site with my Copic markers. I inked around the edges of the image with the same chalk ink to make it blend. Thanks for looking.

Progressive Challenge Inspiration

I love the digital images that are showcased here and the challenge that they offer to us crafters. This one was a color and photo inspiration. I had a lot of fun creating a card for this challenge.

I started with an A2 size grey cardstock card. I added some fun patterned paper from the Sweet Girl Echo Park patterned paper pad. I used a strip of orange lined paper across the top of the card and a border of yellow tape measure paper along the bottom. I placed a piece of turquouise patterned paper on the left hand side of the card. I used this fun digital image that I had received from this site in an earlier challenge. I had a lot of fun coloring it in with my Copic markers. I added two buttons from my stash to the card where the images of buttons were. I decided that it would be fun to wrap thread and twine around the spools. I took my Fiskar craft knife and slit the paper on either side of the spool and carefully wrapped the thread and twine around. I added a sentiment at the top of the card using a stamp set that I received with my CardMaker magazine. Thanks for looking.
