CDAC Progressive Challenge

I found a really fun image here to use. The background paper is from Heidi Grace and is called Midnight Kisses. I used the joy2Christmas stamp set from Stamps of Life in November 2009 to stamp the snowman and snowflakes in the snow globe. I used my Cuttlebug and the Fanciful Labels folder to make the label at the top. The sentiment is from the Winter Fox stamp set from Lawn Fawn stamps. Thanks for looking.

CDC Progressive Challenge

I created a card using a digital image that I found here. The striped background paper is from GCD Studios and the scalloped paper strip is from Crafters Workshop and is called Moonlight Mulberry. I used my Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch to create the scallops. I colored the image using my Copic markers in E57, G17 & RV02. I used my Promarker for the eyes (B624 midnight blue). The sentiment was stamped using Aged Mahogany Distress ink and punched out using my Fiskar scalloped squeeze punch. The sentiment was from a TPC Studios set called Whimsy Greetings. Gift card holder

When you make the gift box out of a 12 X 12 sheet of paper there is just enough cardstock left to make a gift card holder and so I decided to do that also. It is super easy and fun to make. I used the Colorbok Ripe berry paper collection and the last Stamps of Life stamp set that I received as a club member. I decided that there were lots of sets that I didnt use so I discontinued my membership and found another stamp company that is made in the USA and offers a monthly kit club where you receive a 6 X 6 paper pad and a set of stamps. I have been happy with the offerings so far and the wonderful thing is if there is a month that you dont think it is a stamp set you could use you just let her know not to send that months kit.

Cards

The cards that I included in the gift box. I made her a couple of thank you cards, a masculine birthday card and a feminine birthday card. Th pattern papers that I used were mostly from the Colorbok Ripe berry paper collection that I won in a recent giveaway. I did use Webster pages Spring Market paper collection on the black card which is fussy cut the paper and added to the corner of the card. It was so much fun making these. The stamps that I used on the feminine birthday card were a stamp set that Meganbeads on Youtube actually created herself and gave me a set in her giveaway that I won. I love the vintage ladies. Gift box

I decided that part of the holiday gift for my husband's secretary would be a small gift box with some handmade cards that she could use. I found a super cute and easy to make gift box designed by Melinda Beltran and found at www.scrapbookeden.com. It is super easy to make and just uses a 12 X 12 piece of cardstock and the piece you cut off is what you use to make a gift card holder. I made the gift card holder and gave her a gift card to a local coffee shop. Thanks for looking

Holiday card

My husband always gives his secretary something for the holidays. She loves my handmade cards and so I always try to find one that is a little different than the standard folded card to make for her. It is getting more difficult to find interesting folded cards that are easy to make. I found this side step card on Splitcoast stampers so I decided to give it a try. I used the Basic Grey Indie bloom collection that I won in a giveaway recently and some gorgeous flower trim that I had been hoarding. The sentiment is from the Nov. SP & Company kit.

Challenge Card

I enjoy using the digial images that are offered here. I decided to use this image from McMahon Five Designs to play along with the SPCC #130 challenge. I used a sketch that I saw in a magazine and some patterned paper scraps from my stash. I used the November SP & Company "Ultimate Sentiments II" stamp set for the sentiment on this card. I made my husband's secretary a bunch of cards as a holiday gift and I know she likes dogs so I decided to use this cute image that I got here and make a masculine birthday card for her to give someone. Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamps challenge for this week is a photo challenge inspiration and can be found here. I saw the music note stars and was drawn to those. I used a Sizzix embossing folder in my Cuttlebug and then inked it up with Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough distress ink and the patterned paper in the background is from Basic Grey. The star I punched out using my Fiskars squeeze punch and stamped a couple of them with a Music note background stamp from Cornish Farms. I used some twine from a shop on Etsy.

SPCC #129 challenge

Well it is time once again for the SP Color Challenge which you can find here. It was to use brown and 2 colors of blue. I decided to use the Echo Park "Winter Park" paper collection that was part of the November monthly kit. I found this adorable tea cup card template on this wonderful gals blog (http:www.melstampz.blogspot.com). She is very talented and shares some wonderful templates. I used some brown sugar twine that I received in one of my SP & Company monthly kits. The sentiment is also from the November monthly stamp set called "Ultimate Sentiments II". The tea bag was cut out of some patterend paper from GCD Studios. Thanks for looking.

Another challenge card

I decided to participate in the Sweet Stamps blog challenge to make a gate fold card & Simons Says stamps challenge for the week is anything goes and they are teamed up with Lawn Fawn stamps. I decied it would be a great time to incorporate a Lawn Fawn stamp in my gate fold card. I used an wonderful digital image that I received from here which was created by Guylou's Inimitability. The patterned paper I used were from the My Minds Eye Kraft Funday "Happy Day's" collection. I colored the image in with Copic markers: E57, R29, RV29, E00, E47, YG03, and YR04. I stamped the frame stamp from a Stamps of Life -Limited Edition 6 stamp. The thank you sentiment comes from the Lawn Fawn "Many Thanks" stamp set. I used Festive Berries distress ink to stamp the sentiment. I put some glossy accents over the fish bowl to make it look more realistic. Thanks for looking.

Card for challenge

I decided to follow along with this week's color challenge on the SP & Company blog here. The colors were to be turquoise, red and green. I really loved this cute digital image that I received here which was created by Jens Digital Stamps. I colored the image in using my Copics. I added some Aged Magohny distress ink to the edges of the image and a small heart rhinestone. The patterned papers I used were from the Echo Park "Winter Park" collection that I received with my November monthly stamp kit from SP&Company Stamps. I also stamped the sentiment with the Ultimate Sentiments II set from the monthly kit. The red swirl paper was punched out using the Double Scalloped MFT die and the blue paper was punched out using my Fiskars Scalloped Sentiment border punch. I used some turquoise trim that I had in my stash at the top of the card. Thanks for looking.

icopic weekly challenge

I love following along with the weekly copic challenge here. The challenge was to make something vintage and distressed looking. I used an adorable bird image that I found here that was created by Doodle pantry. I colored the image using my Copic E50, E11, BG13, & YR4. I used aged maghony distress ink to distress the edge of the digital image. I stamped the banner on My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose "Hattie and Hazel" collection using my Stamps of life "banners4all" stamp set with Vintage Photo distress ink. I used some twine that I got from an Etsy store to put the banner together. I used a piece of vintage lace that I bought from Craigslist and I also used some Aged Maghony distress ink on it to make it more distressed looking. I placed a piece of Recolltions bling on the lace to give it a little more dimension. I used a piece of patterned paper from my SP&Company monthly stamp kit that was from Echo Park's "Winter Park" line. The scalloped design was punched using my Fiskars Scalloped Sentiment border punch. Thanks for looking.

Digital image Challenge

Sweet Stamps challenge

The weekly challenge here is to make a tag. I decided this would be fun and something I could use on a holiday gift. So here is my tag. I cut it out using my Silhouette machine. The patterned paper is from Echo Park's Everybody loves Christmas paper. I used some vintage lace that I found at my local thrift store and a flower that the wonderful SaCrafters on youtube makes. I won this flower from her in a rak. I have some trim that I think would make a flower like this so I plan on trying it out. Thanks for looking.

Simon Says challenge

The challenge here is to use a tag on a card or make a tag. I decided to use this tag that came from my son's clothing that we purchased. I added some pattern paper to the center where the brand name was and some bling. I used my fancy label Spellbinders tag with the Ultimate Sentiments II stamp set from SP & Company which is the monthly kit for November. I love the font of this. Card Recipe Challenge

I found a fun recipe card challenge here where you were supposed to use 2 pattern papers + colored cardstock base (NO KRAFT OR WHITE BASE) + buttons + punch/die cut = your card. The pattern papers on my card were from the Echo Park Winter Park collection and the sentiment stamp was from the Ultimate Sentiments II set from SP & Company stamps. Progressive Digital Challenge

We received our new digital images from here to use on our projects. They offered a challenge to use 2 of the images on something other than a card. I decided to make this really cute altered wooden gift box that I can use to give a nice birthday gift. I painted it using the Adirondack "Purple Twlight" paint dauber and then when it was dry I applied a coat of Duncan Sparklers paint in the "Purple flash" color which gave it some amazing purple sparkle. I colored in the cute chickie image using Tim Holtz Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet using my blender pen. The image is backed with My Mind's Eye "So Sophie -Graceful" patterned paper. I add some paper flowers from my stash and tied the Happy Birthday digital image on with some ribbon from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Sweet Stamps Card Challenge

There is a fun card challenge here that I decided to enter. I chose purple as my non-traditional Christmas color. I used the My Mind's Eye "So Sophie-Graceful" paper collection. The stamps are from the Stamps of Life "penguins4Christmas" stamp set. I used the same collection of patterned paper to stamp out the presents. Scrapbook Challenge

I found a fun sketch here. I loved this sketch and thought it would be perfect for this cute photo of my daughter that I took at a Reno water park last summer. I used the My Mind's Eye "Fine and Dandy girl" paper collection. I used the double scallop border die from My Favorite Things and my Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch. I used some American Crafts Thickers to make my title.

I know that a lot of crafting people LOVE their Fiskars products like scissors and trimmers well I am no exception so I was thrilled a couple years ago to learn that Fiskars has a community of crafters online so I joined up here. I have made some wonderful friends, participated in challenges and online crops. I also love using digital images and so I decided to combine the monthly Fiskars color challenge which was to use metallic color with a digital image I received here. I found a chipboard frame and inked with the versamark ink and then embossed it with Stampendous Pirate Gold embossing powder. I did this 3 or 4 times to make my frame look like it was metal. I used the Echo Park "Times and Seasons" Paper pack for the background behind the digital image that I colored using copic markers. The paper strip at the bottom was from the My Mind's eye "Stella & Rose - Gertie" paper pack. Thanks for looking

Card challenges

There was a photo inspiration card challenge here where they showcased a field of red poppies. I decided to make a RED card which fit perfectly for a challenge that I found here where they are showcasing their newest stamp sets. The challenge was to use RED. The patterned papers I chose to use where from the My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found two -Rosy" paper collection. I used my Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch on the bottom paper strip. I used 2 metal flowers from the Making Memories "Vintage Findings" metal and pearl flowers. I colored the pearl flowers with my R27-Crimson Red Copic marker to match my card. The sentiment was stamped from the SP & Company "Just a Note" stamp set in Tim Holtz's new Festive Berries distress ink. Thanks for looking.

I found a fun challenge here and decided to give this color combination a try. I used a green card base from Denami Design. The patterned papers are from the Lost and Found two "Rosy" paper collection. I punched the gold polka dot paper with my Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch. The metallic red flowers are from Making Memories "Vintage findings" pearl and metal flowers. The green flower is from Webster's pages Rose sparklers. I love using my Copics to color in images and so I have enjoyed participating in challenges that are offered here. I used a digital image from here to color in. I used G05 for the green trees, grass & shrubs. I colored the barn with E57 and the sky with B12. The background paper is from the Echo Park "Times & Seasons" paper pad. Digital Challenge

I decided to use a digital image to make my last easel thank you card. I chose to use patterned paper from My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found two sunshine" paper collection. I used Mustard seed, Frayed Burlap & Brushed Corduroy Tim Holtz distress inks to color in the digital image that I received here. I found some ribbon in my stash that went perfectly with this color scheme to use on the front of the card. I punched the paper strip on the inside of the card using the Martha Stewart Cornice border punch. Thanks for looking.

Thank you card

I created another easel thank you card. The patterned paper I used was from Prima and it is called "Paisley Road". I used the MFT retro rolled flower and cut it out from pink felt. I attached it in the center of the Webster's pages bloomer trim. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the paper strip on the inside of the card. I used a ribbon rose that I got from my local thrift store. I stamped the sentiment from my SP & Co. "Just a Note" stamp set in peeled paint Tim Holtz distress ink. Thanks for looking.

Easel Card

We had some friends invite us to a great Moroccan dinner Friday evening & we enjoyed ourselves so much that we thought some thank you were in order to show our appreciation. I had so much fun making the first easel card that I decided all my thank you cards would be easel cards as well. I used the Websters pages "holiday vogue" paper line on this card. I punched a Martha Stewart butterfly and added some Queen & Co. pearls to it. I punched the inside paper strip with a Martha Stewart border punch and added a fabric flower that I made and some Recollections swirl bling. The sentiment on the card front was from the October SP & Co. monthly stamp club kit. Thanks for looking.

Easel card challenge

My husband's secretary is not going to report directly to him anymore but will still do work for him so he wanted a card to thank her for all of her great work. I decided that I would try my hand at an easel card. I used the My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found 2 blush" collection for the front of the card and also the paper strip on the bottom inside of the card. I punched the inside paper strip with the Martha Stewart deco fan border punch. I used a MFT rolled rose die to cut some pink felt and placed it on the front of the card. I used the MFT rolled flower die to cut more pink felt and placed it on the inside paper strip. I decided to punch a small butterfly for the front of the card using a Martha Stewart punch. This was a fun and easy card to make. I am entering this card into a challenge that I found on this blog.

Card Challenges

I saw that the challenge on the Simon Says stamps blog was to use buttons. I love buttons & have quite a stash of them so I thought this would be a great time to help me use a few of them!! I chose to use a digital image that I received from here for this card. The striped patterned paper behind the colored image is from My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found two - Breeze" patterned paper pack and all the other patterned papers are from the Echo Park, Times and Seasons pack. I used some vintage lace that I found at my local thrift store and some buttons from my stash. I used the Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch to punch around the patterened paper on 3 sides. The pink acrylic flowers are from papermart.com.

SP Color Combo#124 Challenge

I decided to participate in the SP color challenge for this week which you can find here. It was a fun color combination. I used a red cardstock base and the green patterned paper is from my monthly SP kit for October and is the Echo Park "Times & Seasons". The blue patterned paper is from My Minds Eye "Lost and Found-Portobello Road" collection. I stamped the sentiment using my latest stamp set from SP & Company. The image is a digital image that I recevied from here. I used my Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch to punch a border on the blue polka dot paper from My Mind's Eye. I punched out the air mail image using my Fiskars "Round & Round" circle squeeze punch. Thanks for looking.

ICopic Weekly Challenge

I have joined a new stamping kit club from SP & Company and on their blog I found out about a weekly challenge here that has to do with using Copic markers. I have quite a few of them and need to use them more so I thought it would be a great help to encourage me to use my markers. The theme was masculine which is sometimes difficult for me. I used a digital image that I had saved. I used BG15 to color the car and B12 for the water. I stamped the "for you" sentiment using a Stamps of Life stamp set on a vintage tag that I punched using my McGill punch. The blue/green background paper is from my stash and the silver paper is from the DCWV Textures and Finishes paper stack. Thanks for looking.

So Thankful card challenge

I found a fun challenge herethat I thought I would make a card for. The theme for the card was to be "so thankful" which of course is very appropriate for the month of November. I used a piece of Kraft cardstock that I got from Denami Designs. The background paper is from My Mind's Eye "Lost & Found two" the Sunshine paper pack. I used a piece of linen fabric to adhere my very fun vintage image that I received from a dear friend of mine. I cut out the fancy spellbinder label from My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Girl paper pack and stamped the sentiment from a Stamps of Life stamp set in Tea Dye ink from Tim Holtz.

A card creation for Challenges

I have just recently discovered a new stamping company that offers very reasonable price kits and they have lots of different options. You can find the info here. I have subscribed to the kit that includes a 6 X 6 paper pad and one stamp set each month. They have a color combo challenge going on now that I decided to participate in, to find out details click here. I am also part of a digital progressive challenge in which I receive digital images to create with so I decided to use one of them on this card. You can find the information about that challenge here. I also enjoy playing along with challenges on the Simon Says Challenge blog located here. I used the Echo Park Time and Seasons paper pad for this card that came with the October SP & Company kit. I used my Spellbinder dies to cut out the label shape and the blue patterned paper was cut using the Fiskars Upper Crest border punch. I hope you enjoyed this card. The sentiment was stamped with the "Just a note" stamp set from my October monthly kit from SP & Company.

CDC Progressive Challenge

I have been having fun receiving digital images to use in my papercrafting by participating in a progressive challenge here. I just loved this doily looking image. I have loved using the Lost & Found two 6 X 6 paper pad collections. The one that I chose to use this time was the "Sunshine" collection. The patterns and images are so vintage and wonderful. I didnt want to distract from the paper or the doily too much so I didnt add any other embellishments. I torn the edge on one of the papers and distressed it using Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink. I also used this same distress ink on the edge of the smaller strip also. I colored the doily image with my copics and I made them different sizes so I could layer them together.

Lawnscaping Challenge

I was lucky enough to get some stamps from the latest Lawn Fawn release. I was a lucky blog hop winner and won a gift certificate to their store. I love their stamps. I decided to participate in this challenge so I could use one of my new stamp sets the Winter Fox. I used some text background paper and then I made my own background using a coffee background stamp that I have and the emboss resist technique using Aged Mahogany distress ink. I used my Label spellbinders for a background for the cute little fox that I embossed in silver and colored in with my copics. I used some paper that matched the background to paper piece the coffee cup. I used a fancy label Spellbinder die to hold the sentiment from this adorable Winter Fox set. This was a very fun card to make. I used some black lace from my stash along with Recollections pearls.

Here is another card that I made with an image created by Just InkLined here. I colored this image with my Copics and then also used my Tim Holtz distress inks and watercolored with them. The background paper is from GCD Studios and I used some ribbon from my stash and some flower pearl trim that I bought from a fellow youtuber. The sentiment came from the newest Lawn Fawn release and is a Thank you set.

I completed another card using a digital image from here. This is a super fun image for winter. I used a fun technique that I learned in my online class called Inspiration Showcase with Jennifer McGuire. I used my Cuttlebug on the black piece with a dot folder. The sentiment is from the newest Lawn Fawn release and is a thank you set. I used some Recollection bling.

CDC Progressive Challenge

I have enjoyed creating with the digital images from here. There are a lot of woman with great talent in creating wonderful images for us to use. I am taking an online class from Jennifer McGuire called Inspiration Showcase. She is helping us to create a canvas and sharing amazing techniques with us. One of the techniques she shared was to take a color of Distress ink and put it all over a piece of cardstock using the direct to paper technique. You then take a background stamp and spray with water and place the distressed cardstock on top of the wet stamp. It creates this really cool background like in this card. I used another technique on the woodgrain for the table top. It is using glossy paper that you dry emboss and then put distress ink over the top of it. I colored the image with Copic markers.

DCWV Sketch Challenge

I love DCWV paper packs so I decided to join in their sketch challenge. If you are interested in checking it out you will find it here. I found just the perfect photo in my stash. I used the Textures and Finishes paper stack along with the Black Currant paper stack. I love the colors in the Black Currant stack they are so rich and full of shine. I dyed my own seam binding with a Color shot from Lindy stamp gange. I used some Queen and Company pearls. TFL

Lily pad sketch challenge

I found a fun sketch challenge to participate in here. I enjoyed followng a technqiue from an Inpiration Showcase class that I am taking that shows us how to make a canvas using lots of different distressing techqniues. This one is done on glossy paper. I thought it would be super cute to make it look like a tree trunk so my owl would have a nice home. I used my Sept. Stamps of Life stamp set (owls2love). Thanks for looking.

Inspiration Showcase Class

I have been receiving lots of inspiration from this fun online class. There are great videos to watch and a great printable handout each day. I decided to try my hand at the technique called "trapped embossed resist". This is a great way to change the look of your patterned paper and help to make it new again. I used a piece of older DCWV patterned paper and stamped some fun flowers from a Stamps of Life stamp set and then used some Tim Holtz distress ink over the top of the embossed flowers. The sentiment was from the August Stamps of Life set.

CDC "Back to school" Progressive challenge

I used another digital image to create a card. I received the images from here. The sketch is a very simple one that is the monthly sketch on a great message board made by the Fiskar company. Lily pad card challenge

I found a very fun card challenge here. It was a very fun one and a technique that I seem to forget about a lot. I have also signed up for Jennifer McQuire's Inspiration Showcase online class and the first day was about different resist techniques. They make beautiful backgrounds for cards. I used the newest My Mind's Eye Lost and Found "Breeze" paper collection for the background. I stamped my Hero Arts CL285 flourish background stamp with Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then went over the whole background with my Broken China distress ink. I love how it made the flourishs pop off the page. I fussy cut out part of the corner of the patterned paper and adhered in the corner. I stamped my newest Stamps of life stamp set and put on the left hand side of the card. The sentiment is from the stamps of life set also and it was stamped in the Broken China ink.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I found a fun challenge here that I thought I would give a try. It was to create a multi-fold card. I watched a really helpful video from Creations with Christina on youtube where she showed how to do a diamond fold card. I have seen these but always thought they would be too hard to do. She gave step by step very easy instructions and I was able to get it done in no time. I used the new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found "Breeze" paper stack. I used the Sept. Stamps of Life set to stamp the owls using my Tim Holtz distress inks in Walnut Stain and Rusty Hinge. I used my McGill vintage tag punch to punch out some cardstock and stamp the sentiment from the set in Broken China ink. The flowers are ones that I bought in a set from Yoliebean on Youtube. CDC "Back to School" Progressive Challenge

I made another card using a digital image from CDAC. There are many talented individuals here that create some great images. I used the Prima "Road Trip" paper pad for this card. I felt it worked with the back to school image. The flower I created using some polka dot ribbon from my stash. I just made a running stitch and gathered it together. I placed a pearl flower button in the center. The good luck sentiment was from my August Stamps of life stamp set. I colored the image in using my Copic markers.
